The Story

A painting of Guru Har Rai ji which speaks to the divine connection to Waheguru which manifested itself in all ten Guru Sahibs.

Guru Har Rai ji, the seventh Guru continued the martial tradition begun by Guru Hargobind and continually kept a mounted guard of 2,200 warriors whilst continuing to spread the message of Waheguru.

Guru Har Rai ji was the embodiment of gentleness and kindness. He respected the Jyot (Waheguru’s light) in every living creature and nurtured the health of even those who opposed the Sikhs. Through his actions, the Guru taught that doing Simran and entering the Tenth Gate (Dasam Dwaar) allows Waheguru’s light to be seen in everyone and every living thing, thus, eliminating the distinction between friend and foe.

Guru Har Rai founded a hospital and health research centre in Kiratpur, where medicines were dispensed free of charge and in abundance. Through his unparalleled compassion and understanding of how the Creator lives in all, the Guru spread the important message of Simran. As well as nursing humanity, Guru Har Rai highlighted the necessity of aiding animal welfare and respecting ecological fragility. Guru Har Rai highlighted humanities responsibility towards ecological balance and wellbeing.
